Cinderella ManA Review by Daniel When America was on its knees, he brought us to our feet. That tagline, for Cinderella Man, fits the film perfectly. Cinderella Man is a based on a true story about a man named Jim Braddock. Jim is a rising boxing star however because of a series of turn of events and the coming of the Great Depression, his career comes to an unexpected halt. No longer receiving money from boxing, and the almost impossibility of finding a steady job during the depression, Jim struggles to provide for his wife and three kids and keep them together. It is not until after Jim realizes how lucky he truly is and what he has to fight for, that he gains new inspiration and begins a slow journey back to becoming a great boxer... one that will capture the dreams and imagination of America and give them the hope they need to carry on. The story line of Cinderella Man is quite inspiring. The acting is good, however it's not as powerful as it seems in the movie trailers. The film is also accompanied by a great musical score and cinematography is very well done as well. Overall I'd give Cinderella Man 4 our of 5 stars. I'd recommend it to everyone except younger children. The films violence and mild language may not be appropriate for them at times and besides I doubt most younger children would be able to understand and appreciate this inspiring story. Rating: 4 Stars |
