GarfieldA Review by Daniel Because of a few reviews I had read prior to seeing the movie Garfield, I was a bit skeptical about the quality of the film. However after seeing it for myself I cannot understand what the writers of the negative reviews I read were thinking. Although I'm not an avid reader of the Garfield comics I do have a good understanding of the storyline behind it. Garfield is an overweight, lazy orange cat who's favorite food is lasagna. In the movie he lives with his owner Jon (Breckin Meyer). Garfield is Jon's faithful companion, his best friend, until a visit to the vet changes things... Liz (Jennifer Love Hewitt), whom Jon has had a crush on since high school, works at the veterinarian office Jon attends. She convinces Jon to take home and care for a DOG named Odie. As you can imagine Garfield is not at all happy about this new addition to the household. Garfield makes several attempts to get rid of Odie however in the end they must both set aside their differences, and Garfield must swallow his pride when Odie is kidnapped... Overall I thought Garfield The Movie was great. It has several good humor scenes, a little suspense/drama, and a touch of romance. Garfield himself is not the most impressive computer generated imagery however the fact that Garfield is supposed to look cartoonish makes this irrelevant. Rating: 4 Stars |
