The InterpreterA Review by Daniel I saw The Interpreter this past weekend. It definitely turned out to be much better than I had expected. In a nutshell, The Interpreter is about a woman named Silvia Broome who is an interpreter for the United Nations. One evening she overhears a couple of people talking in muffled voices and it seems that they are planning a murder... but the thing is, the target isn't necessarily someone she likes... I was impressed with the storyline of The Interpreter and the sub-plots that were interwoven into the main story. Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn both lead strong roles, with great acting. The movie was both entertaining and interesting. It was interesting to see some of the problems that are occurring in parts of Africa, though this was a movie so I guess some of these events could be skewed. Overall I'd give The Interpreter 3.5 out of 5 stars. It was a good mix of drama and romance, with a generally good plot, setting, and acting. I'd like them to make an Interpreter 2, that'd be cool, but we'll see... I doubt they'll make one. Rating: 3.5 Stars |
