The TerminalA Review by Daniel The Terminal is the story of a man named Victor Navorski (Tom Hanks) who after arriving at New York's JFK airport finds himself stuck in a systematic crack. Because of strange of strange circumstances Victor cannot return to his home country nor can he enter the United States. He is stuck in the JKR airport with no money, food, or any ways of communicating because at the time his English is very poor. During his stay at the airport Victor forms friends, comes to the rescue for a few people, finds a way to earn money, and even has time for a little romance. Victor meets air flight attendant Amelia Warren (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and a relationship quickly becomes to form between them. They're both lonely, have a few secrets of their own, and need someone to talk to. But despite the odd situation Victor finds himself in he will stop at nothing to keep the promise he made to his father. But how can he fulfill his promise if he can't even leave the airport? The Terminal is an excellent movie. Tom Hanks is brilliant, still clearly at the top of his field. This movie is filled with plenty of comedy, some drama, and as I mentioned earlier, a bit of romance. This is clearly one of the best movies of 2004. I did however find the DVD disappointing because it did not have any special features. Rating: 4.5 Stars |
