The VillageA Review by Daniel I think just about everyone is familiar with the name M. Night Shyamalan by now. Director of both Signs, and The Sixth Sense, The Village is M. Night Shyamalan's next big film... well, supposedly. An interesting piece of trivia for this movie that I recently learned is that the movie was filmed in two months and had a 60 million dollar budget. Those two statistics certainly make a big statement. The Village is certainly fantastic given those circumstances. Suspense and surprise are two major factors with M. Night Shyamalan's films. And The Village has it's worth of both of these. The Village has a very surprising ending, however I did find the surprise to be somewhat disappointing. However, I think that is only because it was so surprising, nothing like what I expected. Personally I think I would have enjoyed the storyline more if it were to have turned out different... However the acting in the movie is very good. I thought that Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays Ivy Walker, did an especially good job. Ivy is blind, which adds a very strong effect to the movie. It would be a completely different film if she had normal vision like the rest of the characters. Overall I thought this was a good movie; definitely worth seeing but only deserving 4 out of 5 stars.
