Midnight MagicA Review by Ana This book has so much to it, I don't even know how to express it and where to start. It has so much magic and so much mystery, along with suspense. Set in the 12th century, during the era of witches and wizards and belief in them, this book is so like Harry Potter with its magic and its legends. Around the 12th century, a magician and his apprentice live in London, I think. The book starts out with the apprentice guessing on tarot cards and foretelling his master's death. Then, the master and apprentice are called to the castle by the king to solve a mystery. The magician, however, only believes in magic tricks but not in magic itself. There, the very concerned king tells them of a ghost his daughter is seeing. The apprentice then befriends the princess, and they together see the ghost, who she thinks is one of her lost brother, who died at war. Together with the magician, they discover the trick that the princess plays-creating a ghost of her brother, to achieve her goal (trying not to spoil anything here!) Overall, the suspense and mystery of this book will amaze readers, especially those that like the suspense and mystery in the Harry Potter novels. Author: Avi
