The Burrow
Welcome to the Burrow! Below, you will find several excerpts from the Harry
Potter books that describe and or provide information about The Burrow. Book 2
"The kitchen was small and rather cramped. There was a scrubbed wooden
table and chairs in the middle, and Harry sat down on the edge of his seat,
looking around. He had never been in a wizard house before. "The garden was large, and in Harry's eyes, exactly what a garden should be. The Dursleys wouldn't have liked it -- there were plenty of weeds, and the grass needed cutting -- but there were gnarled trees all around the walls, plants Harry had never seen spilling from every flower bed, and a big green pond full of frogs."
"They slipped out of the kitchen and down a narrow passageway to an uneven
staircase, which wound its way, zigzagging up through the house. On the third
landing, a door stood ajar. Harry just caught site of a pair of bright brown
eyes staring at him before it closed with a snap." Book
4 "The room at the top of the house where Ron slept looked much as it had the last time that Harry had come to stay: the same posters of Ron's favorite Quidditch team, the Chudley Cannons, were whirling and waving on the walls and sloping ceiling, and the fish tank on the windowsill, which had previously held frog spawn, now contained one extremely large frog. Ron's old rat, Scabbers, was here no more, but instead there was the tiny gray owl that had delivered Ron's letter to Harry in Privet Drive."
